What Is Floxing?

Fluoroquinolone toxicities are an effect of antibiotics which can trigger serious, lasting adverse consequences. This includes nausea vomiting, diarrhea, and muscle pain. Floxing may also refer to this.

Fluoroquinolones should never be used by patients who have experienced dangerous adverse reactions from quinolone antibiotics or fluoroquinolones in the past. It is recommended to use caution in patients over the age of 65, those with kidney problems and those having had an organ transplant.

Most quinolone antibiotics that are employed are fluoroquinolones which have a fluorine element in their chemical structure and are effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Fluoroquinolones “kill bacteria” by blocking enzymes that normally untangle DNA during cell replication. The majority of the time, these enzymes break DNA’s double helixand pass another portion of the string through the gap and then repair the cut.

Quinolones are able to bind to enzymes and prevent them from fixing their cuts. Fluorine atoms were added into the quinolones’ structures in the late 1980s. This allowed antibiotics to penetrate tissues throughout the body, including the central nervous system. Additionally, it increased their efficacy against a variety of bacterial illnesses.

Fluoroquinolones may be useful in certain conditions that are life-threatening, for example, where alternative antibiotics are not enough effective.

Fluoroquinolones are used too often, much like other antibiotics. A number of FDA warnings have been issued to restrict the usage of fluoroquinolones. They’ve been linked with severe side effects. Signs and Symptoms

Certain adverse effects associated with fluoroquinolone drugs have been found to be extremely dangerous permanently and irreversible. They include toxicity to the cardiovascular and central nervous systems, musculoskeletal systems and the central nervous system. Ciprotoxicity symptoms can also include:

– Damage to DNA and mitochondrial dysfunction

– Brain fog

– Peripheral Neuropathy

– Blurry Vision

– DNA Damage

– Anxiety and depression caused by Gaba, Gut Damage and the effect

– Tendonitis

– Muscle Atrophy

– The increase in reflexes

Low back pain, tendonitis and tendon rupture are some of the initial signs of Ciprotoxicity. Fluoroquinolones increase the likelihood for developing peripheral neuropathy 47 percent over time.

Ciprofloxacin has been shown to block normal maintenance and transcription of mitochondrial DNA by changing mtDNA topology. Tendinitis, tendon rupture and other tendon injuries could be caused by damaged mitochondria in tenocytes due to fluoroquinolone treatment. It can also cause inflammation and fatigue.
